Aloe variegata is most popularly known and it is one of Aloe Vera kinds which are available in South Africa. It has got white spots on leafs and they look very attractive.  This Aloe Vera spices are considered as a dwarf Aloe. It is grouped with many other kind of Aloe Vera spices. This is classified in to those group of Aloe Vera whose height is not bigger than 250 mm. One can easily find this plant in small groups and they are normally found in 7 to 8 plants.

Leaves of this plant are approx. 200 mm in length and they are adjusted in a bunch of three. Each bunch has got six to eight leaves each. They have got keel on to the lower side and they are generally without spines. Color of the leaf may be variable and it may change based on the condition of the climate. It may be deep green or sometimes chocolate. We can easily see the regular white spots which gives decorative look on the both side of the leaf of the plant.

Aloe variegata is normally obtained from the arid regions of the South Africa. Even it is also available in the southern parts of Namibia as well. Looking at South African countries, this Aloe Vera spices are normally found in karroid area of the Western Cape and Namaqualand. These Aloe Vera spices are generally found in groups and sometimes in the partial shade of bush. Many of the times this Aloe Vera kinds are also gets developed in sandy area where soils gets developed from quartzite or mudstone. Aloe variegata generally produces nectar and that is the reason why it is pollinated by sugarbirds. They are also surrounded by crawling insects like ants. Comparing to the size of the plant one can easily notice that inflorescence is very large of this plant. Once this plant gets fertilized after that its fruits grow very quickly and they get split in three parts. Seeds of this fruits are very small. They are almost of 4mm size. One can easily notice that this plant is very tough. It is very noticeable that this Aloe Vera kinds can remain for long time without water. If one notices that the leaf of the plant has become reddish from brown color then it is a sign of stress.

According to the studies up till now there is no medical usage recorded of Aloe variegata. In the early 1658 there are many beliefs attached to this Aloe Vera spices. Some of the people believe that if this Aloe Vera kinds are hang inside the hut of women and if the plant gives flower that means the women is fertile. There are some other beliefs as well for this plants. They are also planted on the graves by thinking that it will be good for eternal life. Aloe variegate is very attractive plant which is good for gardens and used for container planting. If proper care is given then this Aloe Vera spices can last for many years.
